Happy New Year everyone. I hope you are staying safe during the pandemic. I am always being asked about pricing for commissions and have mentioned that it is difficult to due to a few factors. The first is the size of the project, another is how many main subjects are there if a portrait. There is the amount of work involved or degree of detail required and there is if it is a study of a subject or a full scene.
I am able to give you an exact quote once I see the photograph(s) I have to work from. I am offering below a rough guide but not firm pricing structure, so you can get an idea of what a commission may be worth.
5" x 7" study only $250 one subject, scene or 2 or more subjects portrait work $300, this size can only be head a shoulders type to to the inability to draw the required details any smaller. A full scene would be in the $300 range.
8" x 10" study $450 one subject and $500+ for more than two. A scene can be $500 -$800 depending on degree of detail/difficulty required.
11" x 14" study $800 one subject $1000 two subjects and $1000+ for more than 2 subjects. A scene will be $1000+.
Any sizes larger than this I will quote once I see the photograph(s) I have to work from.
